(which I doubt...) Alrighty....
Although, I stopped doing CoP missions after like 8-2
just wanted access to *sea* and the grand palace of Hu'Xzoi
for those hard to get Blue Spells.
Only need Plasma Charge and Mindblast
...Mindblast not being easy to aquire from those gawd awful SoulFlayers even in an alliance... ugh...
that would prolly be the no. #1 hardest spell to get
the 2nd being Exuviation ...I've got that tho...
and Wamoura moths ...for the record...
are a mother-f%&$# b&$#% to fight.
after those 2 spells I can pretty
much lvl and retire Blue mage permanently.
Didn't bother with any missons afterwards.
I do generally help out others on missions before that
for gil or when I am just really bored.

I was in a party that had a really bad thief
on that one part of the mission through Pso'Xja...
there are like these 16 doors... you hafta get through...
and sometimes, when you open a stone door
it triggers a NM Gargoyle...
But supposably with a good Thief...
they can pick the doors,
and not get any NM spawn(s).
.....But our thief spawned every NM...
Hahaha... that $&#* was not funny at the time!
...I don't know if he was just unlucky, or had no skill...
I'm guessing both.
There's also a lil glitch one can exploit in that area...
The elevator is like right across from where you come in.
So if somebody forgot a CS somewhere...
(...and somebody always did...)
They can die there just
across from the elevator area.
and a Blm can tractor them across,
which moves them right over to the elevator, then raise them...
skips...all...them...doors. *subtle firm playful squeezes*

you do realize, there's no "finesse" in picking a lock and NOT spawning an NM right? 
all you do to "pick a lock" is trade the damn key. lol, ummm, what kind of key were they using? that could be part of the problem actually. And a lot of bad luck. i tried picking a coffer once. :/ in the Necropolis, it weakened me (luckily) until i was running around to get out of there and it chose that moment to unweaken me (unluckily, espcially considering it could last an hour or two i hear), leaving me in the red, by about 5 skeles. ; ; Perfect Dodge and flee doesn't work when you're lost. XD
anyhow, i'm pretty sure if there's a thf needed for it. it'll be me.  and i so rock. lol

Buuuut he was using thief tools to do such,
that's what he said he needed,
so it might of been that.
the mission called one to be feared is all you really have to worry about in CoP now... ...that's the airship battle, with 5 mammets, Omega weapon, and Ultima weapon... heeheehee... *coughs*
btw... the only time they'd go with thief during that battle
is if there is absolutely no one else willing to do it...
and you need a 6th
I bet it could be done with thief,
you can do missions with a combination
of any type of jobs.. ...but if the party setup is
whm/smn brd/whm 2 war/nin, sam/nin
that's the above party setup I went with
and we used another sam for the 6th
The last spot they'd want a DD that does dmg consistently
like a monk, another samurai or black mage ...vs...
having a thief for the last spot.
No one wants to risk losing that fight, at all...
it's one of those bcnm's people tend to get stuck on.
*smirks* mnk, sam, and blm... have more useful 2 hrs
than the thf 2hr perfect dodge... (...sad... but true...)
With a mnk's hundred fists, or a sam's meikyo shisui
the sam can 2hr with the other sam to light or darkness skillchain
and if those aren't around a blm will be preferable
...just to nuke, or backup heal.
So they'd take priority in the fight
Cuz you neeeeeed to do a hefty amount of dmg
with only 45 minutes to do all three. hahaha...

smartass, >.> i don't ONLY have a thf to offer up for CoPs, i have a 75 whm, and a 64 blm, and a 56 (soon to be 57) Sam.
and actually my CoP group consists of people with mutliple jobs to offer up to the SE gods to get us killed, not just my thf. and that airship fight? i have 11 people who i'm helping to get through CoP with me, and i have like 12 more in my ls that are willing to come help with that fight, they think it was the best fight of all the CoP ones. XD too many people. ugh, headache, come rub my forehead for me prz.
Speaking of being a poor picked on thf, my entire ls yesterday was asking for me and my thf. (farming sky. :/, and some katana NM in Temple "Ugly") someday, SE is gonna show some love to the thf and give us everything we want, including, letting us do major dmg as we "mug" the mobs.
i swear they will, and ya'll be like "daaaAAAaaaamn, thfs rock, and mithra's look so hot in thf relic armor"
