Did you happen to notice if somebody was posting a YouTube movie when you came back?
Please post your browser versions.
This is very strange and doesn't make any sense to me so right now I have no idea except perhaps Flash is crashing your browser. No way HTML should be crashing your browser. |

I have not been booted. Usually when I get booted, it's because of my net. But there are alot of times where the refresh is really slow. Just thought I would let you know.

I'm pretty sure it's not happening to the majority of people or I would think I would hear about it.
I'm going to work on the code some more these next couple of weeks and move the chat system to it's own server seperate for the main site and try to spread the load out for the site.
We have been having some spammers trying to attack the forums lately so this may be related. |

Thanks... next time it happens see if you can see any in the room when you come back in.
I would also try a different browser if you have one installed. Firefox seems to load pages a lot faster than IE.
We have nothing special in our chat rooms such as ActiveX but somebody posting a YouTube could cause problems as Flash sometimes doesn't play well with IE. |

| | | | Using Firefox/2.0.0.14: with Windows Vista Home Basic. I had the same problem much longer before I changed from Windows XP to Vista.

k.. well we have a few different issues here.
So yours is you're getting a "time out" message in the chat room. Are you using the frames style or just the default regular chat style in the room? |

| | | | i got caught in refresh hell tonight around 8:30 Pork time....using classic chat settings, IE7 on XP and using the www4.the-pork.com domain......made one post and it took nearly four minutes to post and refresh.....tried to make a second post and after five minutes of spinning, got an error message saying the page could not be found. Tried to go back to the page i had just left and it spun and spun and spun and wouldn't pull the page back up again....
Ended up having to pull up a second IE7 window, then re-log in via www.the-pork.net and the login process took nearly four minutes after i entered my password.....as did getting to the chat room screen....once i got back into the chat room i was in, however, then things sped up again for me....
Had some refresh issues last night during the auction as well, but not nearly as bad as this one tonight!
