You will need to book it under the FRITH REUNION group number 101953 (I tried having them book it as the Canadian Pork Chat party, but they didn't set it up that way) in order to be included in the special group rate of $109/night; this entitles us to (at this point) 5 non-smoking King-sized rooms, and 5 Queen/Queen rooms all booked in one block. If we end up having more people, we may get a better rate, so convince as many to come as you can!!! To that end everyone is responsible for booking your own room for this event, and you are responsible for paying for your own room as well (contrary to rumors, I'm not loaded and I'm not funding this whole event! lol ).
The official small print from the contract done in really low voice and spoken real fast:
*Rooms must be booked by cut-off date to qualify for group discount *Reservations must be made with hotel directly; cannot be made through central *Credit Card required to guarantee a room. *Group Rate will not be available after cut off date. Cut-Off Date: Tuesday, August 28, 2007 *Cot Rental: $10.00 + tax per day. *Smoking Charge of $250.00 if any guests smoke in a non-smoking room. *Coordinator acknowledges responsibility for late cancellations / no shows *Rooms must be booked by cut-off date to qualify for group discount *Reservations must be made with hotel directly; cannot be made through central # *Continental Breakfast included in rate for each guest registered, each night of stay. 6am-9am. *Pool Hours - 9am - 10PM - Quiet Time starts at 10pm *Check-in:400pm , early arrival cannot be guaranteed. *Check-out:11:00am *Late check-outs after 11:00am are charged $25.00 per hour, full day rate applies after 1pm Late checkouts must be requested 24 hours in advance. *A Discounted group rate has been provided for the duration of your stay, cancellation of the room must be cancelled 14 days prior to arrival to avoid penalty of first nights room and tax and should the guest (s) decide to check out early or change your reservation after the 14 days, regular rate will apply.*
SO THERE YOU HAVE IT!!!! The date is set, the venue is chosen, prices negotiated! Please bear in mind the cut off date to be booked for this is NO LATER than Aug. 28/07. After that, the unclaimed rooms will be released, and you'll be on your own. Let's all get doing some serious planning, set aside that weekend now, and make it the best, first Canadian Pork Party we've ever had!!!

| | Hey, just an update!! I checked with Quality Inn University to see if anyone's booked rooms yet, and I was the only one. Middie's got a room booked now, so that's 2 rooms. If you're thinking about coming, make that decision soon!! Aug 28/07 is the deadline for group pricing, or you take your chances on your own price. There's 4 Kings and 4 double Queens left!! If you want to share with someone, then arrange it and call in. If you're too shy to call, let me know your name, and I might be able to book you a room there, not sure if I'll need a C'card of yours to do it, but the gentleman asked me the other day if I had a list. SO, give me a list, or call yourselves, but CALL!!! PLEASE!!! Lets make this a hell of a party!!!
By the way, the hotel IS recognizing the group name of Canadian Pork Chat Party, so go ahead and use that to book in. I didn't think they were using it, but they are. Please, sign up. Soon!!!

| | magicaltongue, well, if ya look at the beginning of this thread, there's a phone number at the beginning of this thread to call the hotel directly, you can book thru email, make sure you quote the Canadian Pork Party group. You can, if you'd rather, give me your name and phone number, and I can call the hotel and book your room for you. Double Queen, or single King?

| | I checked with the hotel this week and got some news.
Apparently, mine and Middie's rooms are the only ones booked so far.
Please, please please, don't delay.

Well, other than what's listed at the top of this thread for location, no, not much else to know. Biggest thing is, if you need a room, ya gotta book sooner than later. Once time gets closer, I'm hoping that each person listed as going will page me with their details and number and such, then I can contact them and find out when they plan on arriving in Calgary. If it works out, I will try and come and pick them up from whereever they're arriving at (bus or airport) and if not, make arrangements to have them picked up by the hotel shuttle. It'll be nice to put a person to the persona
