Saturday (May 20, is Armed Forces Day?

For those who will be celebrating it, how will you be doing so to remember those in the Armed Forces?

I didn't hear much in the news about Armed Forces Day, did you? It is a wonderful time to show respect for those who are giving so much of themselves for our welfare, our country and our world.

Saturday, we traveled an hour away to attend a concert given by several large choirs of men, women, and mixed choirs, as well as some Barbershop quartets. HOW THEY HARMONIZED!!! They sang "Battle Hymn of the Republic", "This is My Country", "Armed Forces Salute", "God Bless The USA", "Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor" and many other well-loved songs. College Scholarships were rewarded to help two very promising young high school soon-to-be gratuates. They each presented specials for us and we weren't disappointed in the least.

Those in the audience who served in the Armed Forces were recognized and honored. It was a very wonderful program. The pianist was beyond superior!

We dined at a very good restaurant, visited with friends, and drove home that night. It was a full day of remembering our blessings, being thankful, and honoring those that have meant so much to us.

So, how did you celebrate?
