So, last night I tried to gift a membership.
And when I did, it appeared to take a really long time.
Then I get an error that I had tried to do it twice.

Um, no.
I only pressed once.
And I got a receipt in my email.

Yet, when the person logged on later that evening, they did not appear to get it.
