This first post will simply be to introduce you to the Dice function, which many people are unfamiliar with.

[Dice Error!]

This code will generate a random number from 1 to whatever number you enter. For example:

[Dice Error!]

That code will generate a random number from 1 to 6, just as if you had rolled a six-sided die. By entering different numbers, you can simulate many different things, such as a deck of random cards, a random spin on a roulette table, etc.

Deck of Cards
To "deal cards" with the random number generator, type in the following code:

[Dice Error!],[Dice Error!]

This will produce two numbers: one which is between 1-13, and another which is between 1-4.

1 - 13 = Ace - King
1 - 4 = Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades (respectively)

Example: to deal five cards, you would type in

[Dice Error!],[Dice Error!]
[Dice Error!],[Dice Error!]
[Dice Error!],[Dice Error!]
[Dice Error!],[Dice Error!]
[Dice Error!],[Dice Error!]

Texas Hold 'Em

A card game that has exploded in popularity among amateurs and professionals alike.

Object of the Game:
Create the best poker hand out of two cards dealt to you, and five community cards.

Play:
One player must be the dealer, and the dealer for that hand may not engage in betting. Either one player may deal the entire game, or deal may shift between players, allowing everyone to participate equally. Obviously, there will need to be a lot of integrity on the part of the dealer

1.The dealer Private Messages themselves with all of the hands, using the 13/4 dice combination (see the first post on this thread for an explanation of how to deal cards with the random number generator). So, for example, if there were three people playing, the Dealer would PM themselves with three sets of two cards.
2. If there are any duplicate cards, don't re-deal the entire hand. Simply draw a new card for each necessary hand, obviously making sure to place the cards arbitrarily.
3. The dealer Private Messages the players with their cards.
4. The first round of betting takes place among the players, in rotating alphabetical order (for example, if A, B, and C were playing, for the first hand A would bet first, B would bet second, and C would bet third. The next hand, B would bet first, C would bet second, and A would bet third, etc).
5. The Dealer then Private Messages themself with three cards, making sure they do not duplicate any cards already dealt to players. The Dealer then posts those cards publicly.
6.Next round of betting.
7.The Dealer then Private Messages themself with the next card, and after making sure it is not a duplicate of any previously played cards, posts it publicly (it would probably help to post the first three cards as well, for the sake of the players).
8. Next round of betting.
9. The Dealer then Private Messages themself with the final card, and after making sure it is not a duplicate of any previously played cards, posts it publicly (it would probably help to post the first three cards as well, for the sake of the players).
10.Final round of betting.
11.Players show their hands, with the dealer making sure no one cheats. Pot goes to the player with the highest five-card hand.

Betting
The players type in the number of chips they have in the "Attitude/Gender" location box. They type in their bet in the "Location" box. (both of these are located under the Room Settings button at the top of the chat room). The Dealer will keep track of the pot in the "Hit Points" box, located under the RP Settings button (remember to click the "show hit points" checkbox).

The hands, ranked in order, are (from highest to lowest):
1. Royal Flush
2. Straight Flush
3. Four of a kind
4. Full House
5. Flush
6. Straight
7. Three of a Kind
8. Two Pairs
9. Pair
10. High CardThis message was edited by CM on 2-16-05 @ 7:40 PM
